I got the most wonderful package in the mail this week: the Spring 2013 issue of Simple Quilts and Sewing!
I am very excited to share that my Lone Starburst pattern is featured within, along with directions to make a pillow I created to feature it: measurements, fabric requirements, the works.
Seeing something I created in a REAL magazine for the first time was pretty surreal, and I really love the styling of the photography.
I don't know about you, but I have a ton of extremely special quilt blocks that are just waiting for this kind of treatment. Making one block into a pillow gives it a chance to shine on its own.
Have you ever looked at a quilt magazine? I have to admit that until this package, I hadn't, at least not seriously. These things are chock full of things to make! I want to make them all!
I've been strictly an internet quilting girl, and I even buy most of my fabric online. Sometimes, though, an in-person, tangible experience can't be beat.
Plus, there's a snazzy photo of me. Ignore the fact that my name is missing a letter. I'm trying to.
Here are a few behind-the-scenes shots of pillow-making, and you can find full directions, as well as Lone Starburst templates, in the Spring 2013 issue of Simple Quilts and Sewing magazine.

ReplyDeleteHow lovely for you Anna. To be published must be a most gratifying and exciting thing all at the same time. Such an accomplishment. I find it intriguing for all the blogs I receive in a day, those that write them and share so much seem to be just very lovely people. You make a difference in my day and I thank you.
