Modern Linen Baby Quilt

Earlier this fall, I dove into my linen scraps that my friend Lynn at South Street Linen gave me to play around with.  I've used some of her fetching hand-printed linen before, but this time I decided to use exclusively linen for the quilt top instead of mixing it with quilting cotton.

This recent finish is a smaller, baby version of Craft South's free Into the Wild Quilt pattern, measuring up at about 37"x48". 

I'm always on the lookout for fabrics that work for boys (without having cartoon trucks or ninjas on them).  This time, I put brown and tan tones into the mix, paired with blues and teals. 

Easy Quilted Euro Sham Tutorial with Invisible Zipper

Euro Shams are kind of fancy, right? I have a plan to use mine to make some benches in my entryway more comfortable, but they also adorn beds and sofas. These plump 26-inch pillows can easily be covered in fabric of your choice to decorate your space! Invisible zippers seem tricky, but they are approachable once you get the hang of setting them up, and using one allows you to create two seamless pillow faces.

If you're making a different size of square pillow cover, you can easily adjust the dimensions, using the same techniques below.

Cosmic Red and White Baby Quilt

As part of my recent dive back into doing more sewing, I decided to tackle some WIPs.  I found these three Sun, Please!  blocks (from two years ago!) and decided to feature them on a simple, gender-neutral red and white baby quilt.

This quilt measures about 42 inches square, and I love the contrast created by the simple layout and palette against the intricate paper-pieced block design of the suns.

It's been a while since I finished a new quilt. Quite a while. It was hard to know where to start when I started to feel like sewing again and had some free time. Pinterest? WIPs? Flickr? My list of "make someday" quilts?
