June 2012:
Wayyy back in June, Tiffany sent out black, white, and splashes of color, requesting that we make anything we wanted using half-square triangles. Just the kind of "guided freedom" that makes bees so much fun! I made a modified version of the star block in this tutorial.
July 2012:
Textured linens and navies came our way from Kate in July, with permission to go wild with wonky log cabins.
August 2012:
August brought us some delicious Denyse Schmidt prints to use in Granny Squares for Cindy.
September 2012:
In September, Nydia sent us the softest palette to make into random half-square triangle blocks. Her finished quilt is so serene.
October 2012:
We received some bright prints from Christine in October to make the ever-enchanting wonky 9-patch (which is quick to boot!).
November 2012:
Finally, I closed out our year in November with a somewhat vague assignment to place a "texture" on a field of neutrals. My block, above, absolutely pales in comparison to the ones I received. I am so grateful to the members of this bee for providing creative challenges, inspiration, and quilty friendship. To see their astounding work, check out our group's photo pool.
