I really really loved a quilt layout that I saw online so so long ago (a WIP from Art Gallery Fabrics for the Luna & Laurel collection, and then they made it into a quilt coat?!), so I tried out making my own. The idea was that the log cabin blocks, as a whole, would also form a star. I'm not sure how this one worked out for me.
It's not my favorite ever, especially taking the parts individually, but I think its an interesting study in how quilt block values can create a larger image, especially from far away. Some of my favorite fabrics show *up*, but I don't feel like the quilt particularly shows them *off*.
