Log Cabin Sawtooth Star Baby Quilt

I really really loved a quilt layout that I saw online so so long ago (a WIP from Art Gallery Fabrics for the Luna & Laurel collection, and then they made it into a quilt coat?!), so I tried out making my own. The idea was that the log cabin blocks, as a whole, would also form a star. I'm not sure how this one worked out for me.

Around the World Baby Quilt

I mocked up this "Trip Around the World" baby quilt on graph paper and worked on it in 6x6-square sections. Ruby Star Society's Warp and Weft collection fabrics are lightweight and make for an extremely soft finished product!

Winter Star Baby Quilt

This little wintry beauty was inspired by one I saw online somewhere last year... but I can't remember where! My notes say that it was called a "Christmas Star", but I can't find it.

If anyone recognizes it, let me know! I think there was even a tutorial that I followed.

Corner Stars Baby Quilt

FINALLY! Someone "ok with pink" had a baby.

A Baby Girl (Quilt)

When my daughter was born (um... over 2 years ago...) I finally got to pull out this little patchwork quilt top that I'd been saving "just in case I have a girl" 💗. She's my second child, so... it's fitting that it has taken this long to post.

Sliced Stripes Baby Quilt

I've long admired Meg Callahan's quilts, and this baby quilt is inspired by her aesthetic.

While I didn't hope to replicate the intricacy and scale of her designs, I stuck to just two fabrics (!) and focused on the overall texture of the sliced stripes in a field of white.

I used one of my favorite Anna Maria Horner prints from her Honor Roll collection, and some solid Kona White. They are SO bright despite the dreary lighting of a Maine November.

For the backing, I chose a navy star charts print from Hawthorne Threads, and kept the straight line quilting pretty minimal to match the sliced stripes.

Triangle Patchwork Baby Quilt

Back when there was still snow on the ground, I finished up this small and sweet triangle patchwork baby quilt.

Improv Flying Geese Baby Quilt

This darling baby quilt features flocks of wonky, improvised flying geese in navy, teal, and gold prints and solids. They're set on a greige sky (Kona stone).

Usually, the process of making flying geese is very industrial for me. (I crank 'em out with the second method here, and have wound up with too many in the past!)

Herringbone Baby Quilt

This snappy little baby quilt reminds me that sometimes simple designs and fabrics can have the greatest impact.

Fair Isle Baby Quilt

A sampler quilt, of a sort! This past winter, I set out to make a baby quilt out of strips of different patterns-- a fair isle quilt.  I took inspiration from horizontal patterns in quilts as well as sweaters.

I also dove into a stack of fabrics I'd been hoarding from Cloud 9 fabrics based on Goodnight Moon. Those kittens and mittens!

Sunny Patchwork Baby Quilt

While we're waiting for spring to start up *for real* (it's snowing right now...), this little aqua and yellow patchwork quilt is a spot of sunshine.

Citron and Aqua Sampler Quilt

How did I let this stack of blocks languish in my sewing cabinet for so long (years)? I'm not sure what I was waiting for, but earlier this winter I pulled out blocks accumulated from a few rounds of the 3x6 and 4x5 quilting bees.
